Meet Colin Makhubela, Pacinamix’s new
Senior Creative Director

1. Tell us a little bit about yourself and where you come from

I’m a natural born storyteller from Vosloo, on a journey that’s seen me boldly go where most previously disadvantaged youth haven’t gone before: from a small mining township to the cosmopolitan Cape; the majestic plains of Maseru to the hustle and bustle of Lagos; war-torn village of Catembe and back again to the City of Gold.

2. What do you like to do when you aren’t working? You know when they say work-life balance?

I enjoy watching Netflix documentaries, bio pics, anime, reading, dining and travelling.

3. What’s your favourite sports team and your favourite music artist?

Locally Kaizer Chiefs, Internationally Arsenal, Roger Federer (he’s a team), Johnny Cash, Jay-Z, #Zero2Hundred.

4. What’s a fun fact about you that many people may not know?

Obvious fact is I’m no goth (go figure).

5. What is a typical day like?

Having Rosh chase me around the office (both floors) for me to submit my responses to this quirky interview (apparently it has a bearing on pay grade reviews). In between evading Operations hit-women, I humbly contribute to creative and strategic processes — as well as company culture (or are we a firm or consultancy…asking for a friend).

6. Favourite memory from work?

My future team Gold and Grand Prix Loeries for Pacinamix (frame this).

7. What do you like most about your job?

Being deemed wonderful for my weird musings. Mentoring and being mentored.

8. If Pacinamix was a person, what would you say to him/her for the contribution they’ve made to your overall journey?

Thank you so hard.

9. Throughout your journey, what would you say are the 3 biggest lessons you’ve learnt?

Listen. Demonstrate listening. Listen more than you speak (I’m not there yet).

10. Please take us through the role/impact that Pacinamix has had on your personal, professional journey?

They (Team Zero2Hundred) have restored my self-belief and passion for what I do. You’ve steadily allowed me to have a voice and help nurture it. I’m a firm believer that here — with good intentions — you can achieve anything.

Let's Talk!

Get in touch. We look forward to taking your brand from #Zero2Hundred.
